Space Girls gathers women working at different space organisations who want to transmit their vocation for the Space domain to the younger generation and young ladies.

Space Girls riunisce le donne che lavorano presso l'Agenzia spaziale europea (ESA) che vogliono trasmettere la loro vocazione per il dominio spaziale alle giovani generazioni e alle giovani donne.

There are insufficient female students in the academic streams needed for jobs in the space sector and therefore, women are underrepresented as applicants in the Space Sector. Only 26% of the staff is female. The Space organisations are working hard to increase the number of female employees.

Non ci sono studentesse sufficienti nei flussi accademici necessari per i lavori nel settore spaziale e, pertanto, le donne sono sottorappresentate come candidati nel settore spaziale. Solo il 26% del personale è di sesso femminile. Le organizzazioni spaziali stanno lavorando duramente per aumentare il numero di dipendenti di sesso femminile.

Female professionals would like to organise events at schools and Space Centres to present their educational paths and work experiences. They will  respond to the girls’ questions so as to overcome their fears of choosing to engage in studies that will allow them to access employment in the Space domain.

Le professioniste vorrebbero organizzare eventi nelle scuole e nei Centri Spaziali per presentare i propri percorsi formativi ed esperienze lavorative. Risponderanno alle domande delle ragazze in modo da superare i loro timori di scegliere di impegnarsi in studi che consentiranno loro di accedere a un impiego nel settore spaziale.
